Tony and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Tony passed on in his Nevada home due to cardiac arrest. Famous for his roles in numerous films like the 1957 movie “Sweet Smell of Success”, the 1958 flick “The Defiant Ones”, where he received and oscar nomination and it co-starred Sidney Poitier, and last but not least the 1959 classic “Some Like it Hot” with Marilyn Monroe. Tony will be missed by many all over the world.

After 25 years of modeling, Naomi Campbell still has what it takes to leave your jaw open and mouth speechless. In this Mert and Marcus story shot for Interview magazine’s October issue Naomi plays and poses with a fresh kill and looks damn good doing it. This is a funny lil short about a day I know most of you nerds dread. Also, a day a week or so ago, many of you died for a couple of hours. LOL. Speaking of that day, I still say that it was all a ploy to get ppl to talk about Facebook and make it a “trending topic” all over the world — so sad. Like, wtf, ppl are ALWAYS talking about Facebook so like, wtf were they thinking? Anyway, lemme get off this tangent.

This past weekend Kristin (of Cat Vet), Chris, and myself all went out to brunch at a place called ABBAYE. We were hungry as hell after each of had our respective LONG NIGHTS…lol.

Above is what both Chris and I ordered — I can’t find the name of it online, because there are no brunch menus online, but it was like a fried chicken eggs Benedict covered smothered in a thick white gravy!!!!!!!!! I almost died trying to finish it, but like it was soo effing good. I felt like Roseanne at Thanksgiving.

Below you see the tofu scramble that Kristin (of Cat Vet) ordered for brunch — I’m not even sure if she tasted it because almost immediately it was drenched in Sriracha (hipster’s favorite sauce). The dish was actually pretty good.

We all like sugar a little too much!

While we were eating this dog had a “red rocket” so I took a picture of it. Chris and Kristin had never heard or seen this before so I tried to describe the South Park episode — but they still didn’t get it…so the reference of “red rocket” can be seen below in the videoclip…

LOL. Don’t judge me.

Anyway, the food was mad good and the service was splendid. You should go sometime.

Holy crap, I mean, play this song and tell me you don’t want to just start dancing in a dark club with some random chick…I’m talkin’ bout that grown n sexy type dancin’ — GRINDING!!! And lemme tell you, chicks (who know how to dance and shake their “bottoms”) go nutzo for this song! Damn son! The bass, the beat, the overall simplicity of the song — sighs. So good, dumb good, ghetto good, don’t make no sense good.

Chris and I like to eat, a lot. And we are always finding an excuse to eat out or make some bangin’ a$$ eats. This time (last weekend) we decided to hit up this dumpling house that we’d passed many times before. There is usually a ton of people in the place and a ton of steam everywhere, but this night the place was empty…that is with the exception of us and this little girl…

We had seen her on our way to the dumpling spot barreling down the sidewalk on a scooter with no regard for anyone she might be endangering — I liked that. When we finally made it to the restaurant, we sat down and in she came. I am obsessed with people and watching them and recounting the little things they do and their facial expressions, etc…this little girl fascinated me for some reason…

I don’t look “entertained” but I am.

The air is thick and the humidity high. Nothing seems more appropriate than Barcelona native and Spanish maestro El Guincho. The track features an afrobeat touch topped off with a steel drum sensibility. Influences from the likes of Animal Collective and Delorean are quite apparent. Festive and warm – i like this.

So I had been hearing about Sarah Jaffe for quite sometime now and the other day I finally took the time to sit down and give her a listen…holy crap. A voice so beautifully honest and striking and powerful — CHILLS. I am currently listening to the track “Clementine” right now on the Megabus heading back to NYC and I am covered in goosebumps. Sarah Jaffe gives me goosebumps. The kind of goosebumps that also make your eyes fill up with tears…so great.

I encourage anyone who hasn’t given this young Texas bred singer a listen to take a moment today and do so. Put on your headphones and play it loud. think about something that you long for and I’m telling you — you may cry.

At Brooklyn Bowl this past weekend, Asher Roth was spotted wearing a cleverly designed tee with the
words “Hustle Harder” inscribed on the front. After further inspection I realized that the tee was designed
and executed by two fools that I know! “John-sville” Dessereau and Antoine Hester of IHMDJ partnered to
put together this bomb ass tee and hell yeah, I’m hella proud. Can’t wait to get my hands on one.

Cats seem to have recently entered my life as some new strange prominent theme. Maybe it’s the fact that everyone’s getting cats to cope with post-graduate depression. Or maybe it’s some new alt trend that I’m just not aware of. Honestly, between hanging with new Philadelphia it-girl Kristin Hankins of rising CAT VET and impromptu cat-inspired photo sessions – i’m wondering if it all points to something bigger?
