Tonight I watched Boyz in the Hood for the first time ever. I know what you’re all sayin’…”late to the party” haha, I swear it wasn’t my fault; my moms was trippin’. Anyway, the movie was fantastic, I mean wow! I can’t believe I am just now seeing this movie. It’s like when I heard that Cassie song, Me & You for the first time late last year and I thought it had just come out…so ridiculous. I’m mad late on this one. The scenes, the character development, the actors, the soundtrack, DAAAAAAMN; this movie is literally the whole package…

The list of actors in this movie is just incredible; Angela Bassett, Laurence Fishburne, Cuba Gooding Jr., Nia Long, Ice Cube, Morris Chestnut, etc…so great. And just the messages throughout the movie are just so movie and uplifting. Watch this movie if you have not seen it, please.

My favorite character in the movie is most definitely “Doughboy” (pictured above) played by Baha Jackson and later portrayed by Ice Cube. This kid is so animated and hilarious and sincere..he really just stole my heart immediately when he came into the picture.  I love fat little kids, they’re always so funny it seems and just so…I dunno, lovable. Everything that came out of this kids mouth was hysterical and delivered with the comedic timing of the pros. Such great casting, wowie. ALSO, he is definitely wearing one of my favorite pieces of clothing from the whole movie (pictured below).

Like, DAAAAANG, are you seeing this t-shirt?! STR8 fire. FIRE! That t-shirt goes “dumb hard”; such a great expression. I really want it. Badly. The wardrobe stylist for this film was on point! ON POINT I TELL YA! Haha. Another wardrobe detail I loved in this film are the denims…

Those skinny acid wash denims are so well done. Haha, I was actually on Amazon early today looking for some skinny jeans, acid wash in fact and this film just reassured me that yes, I do actually want a new pair of acid wash jeans; I tore my last pair dancing too hard.

I’m really feelin ol’ dude in the shorts and tights/longjohns’ steez! Haha, so tight. SO TIGHT! Don’t be surprised when I bust this out this summer. Haha. It actually reminds me a lot of some elements from the Hood By Air fashion show last year. Gosh, that collection was so great to look at.  Hmm, just realized that both the movie title and the clothing line I just mentioned features the word “hood”…so maybe this flick did inspire the collection a bit; maybe?
